Fr. Robert Froeschl is from Falls City, NE. He went to Falls City Sacred Heart Catholic school and graduated in 2006. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and studied mechanical engineering. He graduated in 2011 from UNL and decided to enter a Catholic missionary program called FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) rather than immediately entering the workforce.

FOCUS sends recent college graduates back to the college campuses to evangelize the students there by leading small group Bible studies and providing peer mentorship called discipleship to lead and teach others to be a disciple and follower of Christ.

While serving with FOCUS he was sent to the University of Florida-Gainesville and served for the 2011-12 school year there. He was moved and from 2012-14 he served at IUPUI in Indianapolis.

During his time in Indianapolis he heard God’s call for him to be a priest. Specifically, on September 30, 2012 during the 7pm Mass at St. John the Evangelist in downtown Indianapolis during the proclamation of the Gospel, he experienced a unique grace given to him that sorted out all the confused notions in his head to make clear that he was called to be a priest. After that unique encounter, not only the realization, but the desire to be a priest was given to him.

In the fall of 2014 he entered the seminary for the diocese of Lincoln. He attended St. Gregory the Great seminary in Seward, NE for two years in the pre-theologian program. After completing his coursework there, he attended Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD for four years where he finished his preparation for the priesthood.

He was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ on May 23rd, 2020 in the Cathedral of the Risen Christ by Archbishop George Lucas.

His first assignment as a priest was to be an assistant pastor at St. John the Apostle in Lincoln where he served for three years (2020-23. He was then assigned to Blessed Sacrament parish in the Lincoln for a year (2023-24) as an assistant and now has been assigned to God’s country out here where he is the assistant pastor at St. Patrick.
